New Year Resolution for 2011~

Hello everyone! I can't believe today is the last day of 2010 in the U.S. already. I am definitely excited for the new year, and I hope you are too!
So, it is that time of the year again! Time for New Year Resolution.
I have to admit that out of all the things I planned last year, the one thing I completed the best is "buy lots of makeup", haha^0^~
OK, now let's plan the new year! Hopefully this year, I will be able to complete everything better.

Beauty Resolution:
1. I am going to spend less money!!! I have been trying lots of new stuff this year but was unable to finish anything. So I am going to try to finish up some of the products I have. Maybe I will do a project pan???

2. I am going to keep a more regular sleeping schedule. I am going to try to sleep at 11:00 p.m. and get up at 7:00 a.m. I know this will be the hardest thing to do ever! But this will be extremely beneficial to my skin.

3. I will try to work faster when applying makeup. It normally takes me about 40 minutes to do makeup in the morning, and that is wayyyy to long. So I am going to try to cut it down to 20 minutes. ^0^

4. I am going to try at max 3 foundations in the coming year, I got 9 new base makeup in 2010. I have wayyyy to many base makeup (My mom also got me 4 BB creams from Korea). So I have like 15 bottles of mase makeup to finish and I really don't like to waste things. So I am not going to try much base in 2011, especially since I found my HG foundation already (the Diorskin Nude).

5. My last resolution is to bring more tutorials on my blog. I know a lot of you realy like my tutorials, so I will try to work on that. Please feel free to leave me any requests too, if you want me to recreate or do some look you really like.

Other Resolution:
1. Spend more time on reading, I really need to start reading books again. It's been too long, haha^0^

2. Meet more people and hang out with friends more. I used to spend a lot of time with my computer, I probably should hang out with my friends more.

3. Use my planner. I have been neglecting my planner this past year, so I forget things a lot of times. In 2011, I am going to start using planner again. I think it is a great way to keep me on schedule.

4. Do things ahead of time! I have always had the problem of doing things ahead of schedule. I am a pretty last minute person, unless it comes to group projects or really important assignments. For my everyday reading and stuff, I am pretty last minute, which is bad, haha^0^

5. Utilize my weekends. My weekends for this previous semester is basically "sleep+eat+blog/shopping+watch TV". It's like that every week. I really think I need to start doing some school work instead of wasting my weekends in 2011.

OK, that is my 2011 new year resolution. What are you planning for the new year? I would love to hear from you too. If you do post a blog, please leave me the link so I can read it. Thank you so much for reading and for your support.
Stay pretty and stay tuned!
LOVE~^0^

Dry Skin Therapy-10 Useful TIPS~

Hello everyone! I know I have been away for quite a white, but I had some really good time with my family. But I miss all of you a lot, so today I am going to do a post about how to treat extremely dry skin.
During the winter time, most people's skin becomes more dry than that during the summer. My skin becomes REALLY REALLY REALLY dry. My skin started flaking during october, so that is never fun. Dry skin not only makes makeup caky, it also can cause pre-mature wrinkles and allergic reactions.
Now I am going to introduce you 10 tips that can help you get through the dry winter season; let's get started!

TIP #1: Drink more water.

Water makes up 70% of our body, it is very important to our daily activity and OUR SKIN. I found that my skin is a lot more moisturized of I drink 8 glasses of water daily. It also helps me loose weight ^0^, which is even better, haha~

TIP #2: Keep a cup of water beside your bed when you sleep.
Water evaporates. So even we layer on a lot of moisturizer, the water in our skin still evaporate slowly. Keeping a cup of water beside your bed will alightly increase the humidity of the room, which will slow down the speed water evaporate from your skin.

TIP #3: Wash your face with warm water at night, and cold water in the morning.

At night, your skin is about to rest, so you want it to absorb as much moisture and nutrition as possible. Therefore, washing your face with warm water at night will open up your pores and speed up your blood circulation so your skin can absorb the skincare your put on.
In the morning, your skin just woke up, you want to refresh your skin. Also, during the winter, the exterior temprature is very low. So you want your skin to adjust to the environment outside. Therefore, you should wash your face with cold water, so your skin can be refreshed and ready for the cold outside.

TIP #4: Exfoliate regularly if you have flaking problem.

Exfoliating your skin is extremely important if you have flaking problem. I used to think that since my skin is very dry already, I should not exfoliate anymore. But that is a wrong conception. Your skin will not be able to absorb new skincare if the dead skincells are not removed. This applies to you face and body. If you have sensitive skin, use a more gentle exfoliator, like a gel or cream one.
You can also use a Q-tip to dip in a little bit of lotion, then rub around the flaking area. This is a good way to exfoliate targeted areas before applying makeup.

TIP #5: Wash your face with a gentle cleanser.

The cleanser you use can really make a difference. If a cleanser makes you feel really tight and dry after you cleanse your face, it is too stong for you. A more gentle cleanser can effectively remove dirt and makeup without drying out your skin. My favourite one is the Philosophy "purity made simple" cleanser.

TIP #6: Use a moisturizing toner, serum, or essential oil.

For people with oily skin in the summer, you can just choose a more moisturizing toner. A lot of brands has light and enriched toner. You can simple swich to enriched toner and that will be enough.
For people with mildly dry skin. Consider using a moisturizing serum, something that contains lots of hyaluronic acid. A good one I have used is the JUJU cosmetics one, and I have also heard good things about the Dr. Wu one.
For people with extrenely dry skin like I do. You can consider using an essential oil. The one I am currently trying is the Bio-oil. A lot of people think anything that has "oil" in it will cause break out. That is not ture. Good essential oils provide your skin with moisture but would not clog pores and cause break outs.

TIP #7: Use moisturizing masks or night gellys.

When your skin is extremely dry, it needs more nutritious and more intensive care. A sheet or cream mask full of essence will feed your skin with lots of moisture (make sure you exfoliate well before using any mask).
I also recommend the Naruko Night Gellys if you do not have time to do a mask. It is very moisturizing, yet very light. It can be used daily.

Tip #8: Use a good moisturizer.

A good moisturizer helps lock in the moisture of your skin. Don't be afraid to use a cream that is a little thicker than what you use in the summer. A good moisturizing cream should not clog your pores. One of my all time favourite moisturizer is the Estee Lauder Hydrationish Maximum Moisture Cream. You can choose either the dry skin one, or the combination skin one according to your skin type.

TIP #9: Use a hydrating liquid or cream foundation.

In the winter, your skin is in a very dry phase. So after all the skincare, your skin can also get dry during the day. To prevent your makeup from being caky. I would recommend using a hydrating liquid or cream foundation. This will make your base makeup look more dewy and natural. My favourite foundation so far is the Diorskin Nude foundation.

TIP #10: Avoid powder, use cream products.

When you apply powder on your face, it can absorb the moisture of your skin and make it become even more dry. So during the winter, I try to use all cream products, such aas cream blush, cream eyeshadow and so one. This will help my skin from getting even more dry. If you are afraid that your makeup will wear off, you can use a mineral powder and set only the T-zone area. A good setting powder I use is the Lancome Ageless Mineral setting powder.

I hope all these tips are helpful to you and hope you have a wonderful winter ^0^.
Have a great rest of holiday! Thank you for reading!
Stay pretty and stay tuned!

Foundation Review: DiorSkin Nude +Little Jewery Haul

Hello everyone! I am now in Virginia with my cousin for his interview. It was quite a long road trip, but pretty fun as well. Today I am going to review the Dior foundation and show you a little haul I got at American Eagles last weekend.
So here we go!

I got this foundation when I got the $20 coupon from sephora a while ago, and I have be religiously trying it daily. I have to say this is probably the best liquid foundation I have EVER tried.

The packaging is very nice, definitely Dior quality.

I am in shade #20. This is a perfect match for me.^0^ Yeah~ finally!

The texture is rather liquidy.

Packaging: clear glass with a pump, convenient, lighter than the Lancome tient miracle.
Color: I am shade #20; I am NC20 in MAC
Texture: It has a light lotion texture. It's very fluid, kind of like the Paul&Joe protective fluid foundation.
Coverage: sheer to medium
Finish: natural and dewy
Function: This foundation contains 100% natural mineral pigments. It also has 55% mineralized water to keep your skin hydrated. It only has SPF10, which makes it very picture friendly, especially when using flash. The foundation is very hydrating, super easy to blend and does not cake up on my super dry and flacky skin (I do recomment exfoliating if you have visible dry flakes). During the winter time, this foundation stays on my for up to 8 hrs without smudging or transferring. It also does NOT oxidize AT ALL on me, which is really impressive.
Overall, I really really like this foundation. Ever since I got it, I have been neglecting all of my other base makeup products, because I really think nothing is comparable to this foundation. I ever prefer this over my BB creams, because the finish is just really really natural.
I highly recommend this to anyone. I have also heard that it works well on combination to oily skin too. (Although I can't guarantee anything, but I would recommend you getting a sample from sephora to try it out.)I can really say that this is my HG foundation now^0^~

OK, now onto my super small jewery haul. I just got 2 items from American Eagles.

First, I got a really cute bow ring. I am normally size 6, but this one is a little too big, even for my middle finger. I should probably pick size 5. But still, it's very simple and cute.

Then I picked out a set of beaded braclets. It's really cute and pretty casual, which I really like. I think the little clover design is addorable.^0^

That's all for today. Thank you all for reading! Hope you have a great rest of the week!
Stay pretty and stay tuned!

"Naughty" and "Nice" list-2010

Hello everyone! Happy holiday! Christmas is coming, which means 2010 is reaching its end. This year really has passed too fast, but I am really excited for 2011, hopefully all of you and myself will all have a wonderful year coming up.
This year, I actually tried out A LOT of products, so picking out these products was kind of hard, but I did pick out a favourite product of every category, and there are just a few items I regret buying. A lot of people have requested HG products post, so here it is! Almost all of theses profucts are my HG product, so hope you enjoy it!^0^

I am going to start with the "Nice" Products.
First, I am going to talk about hair products.
My favourite purchase this year is probably the Fekkai Full Blown Volumn Shampoo. This is my all time favourite shampoo now.

Moving on to skincare~
Mask wise, I really like the silk whitia Hanfang line. But if I have to choose one mask, I have to choose the My Beauty Diary Bird Nest mask, because this is the best all-function mask, and it is specificly designed for my exact skin type, so I really really like it.

For moisturizer, I have raved about this again and again, and this is definitely my FAVOURITE moisturizer so far. It's the Estee Lauder Hydrationist Maximum Moisture Cream.

For body care, I repurchased the Lush Sea Salt scrub, which I tried last year, but it is till my favourite body scrube EVER~ It makes your skin SUPER soft and refined.

For lip blam, I am still loving the Rosebus Salve, which was from last year, but it still stays as my favourite. But one lipblme I really liked from 2010 is the Jose Maran lip treatment, it's probably the best out of my 2010 purchases.

Now, onto makeup.
For primer, no surprise, I am loving the Benefit Girl Meets Pearl primer.

For foundation, I picked Dior Skinnude Hydrating Liquid Foundation (I am in shade #20). I have yet to do a review on this, it will come in the next post. But this is so far my favourite liquid foundation.

For powder, I am really loving the Lancome Ageless Mineral loose powder in transparent. It's the most natural powder I have tried. It does not dry out my skin and it really helps hold the makeup on.

For blush, I am really really into cream blush this year. One of my favourites is the MAC creme blush in "ladyblush". The texture is very smooth, it's not drying and I think this color will fit a pretty wide range of skintone.

In terms of eye palette, it was really a tough choice, since I like all the eye palettes I got this year, but if I had to choose one, it will probably be the Coffret D'or C curve eyes in 06. I know it's kind of a boring neutral palette, but that's what makes it so versatile and useful for school and work.

For eye liner, of course, I picked the Koji Dolly Wink liquid eye liner. This is the best eye liner I have ever tried. It does not smudge, and the applicator is very precise.

For contour, I am still loving the NARS Laguna, but a new favourite this year is the Laura Mercier Bronzing powder in "Dune Bronze". I think this has a ever more natural finish than the NARS Laguna one.

For lip product, my favourite (this was extremely hard) would have to be the MAC lipkit in Happily Ever After from their christmas collection. I think these shades are very pretty and versitile. Also, this kind not only contians 2 lipsticks, but it also has a lipgloss, which makes it even better, great for travel.

Also, someone asked what is my favourite look that I did this year (out of all my tutorials). I like all of them, haha^0^, I guess that's why I did them in a tutorial form, but if I have have have to pick one, I would choose the look I did for my emcee event, because I love purple and I got a ton of compliments at the event^0^~

My favourite collection that came out this year is, suprisingly, the MAC a Tartan Tale Collection. The only reason is that I LOVE LOVE LOVE plaid. So I was beyond excited when this collection came out.

Only 2 "Naughty" products:
First, the NYX blush in pinky. This is a bright bright pink color. I know some people really like it, but this color is just not for me. It look ridiculous on my cheeks, so quite a disappointment.

OK, a lot of people are going to beat me up for this, but my second item is actually the Revlon lipgloss in lilacism (I think that's the name). I thought I would really like this over the lady gaga lipstick, but I didn't really like it. It's just not all that flattering on me (Againg, this is only my personal opinion, so don't hate me on that, haha^0^) .

That's my naughty and nice list. I definitely like most of the items I got this year. I would love to hear from you all about what you like this year too^0^! Thanks for reading!
Stay pretty and stay tuned!
Love~^0^

Cake Beauty Comprehensive Review~

Hello everyone! Happy friday!! I went to watch TRON today, it's a wonderful movie, definitely recommend it. The graphic is just amazing~
OK, on to the topic. Today I am going to review some Cake beauty products I have been trying. I actually tried quite a lot of their products, so here we go~

First, I am going to review the hand and foot cream. I got this in a set from sephora.

Cake Beauty Mild Made Handcream:
The texture of the handcream is a pretty light. A lot lighter than the L'occtaine shea butter handcream (which I loves), but of course, it's not as moisturizing as the L'occtaine one. But that's kind of what I expected from it. The best thing about this handcream is probably the smell. It smells very sweet and kind of like vanilla. If you don't really like sweet and cake-ish scent, then this is probably not for you. The packaging is very nice, the tip is very easy to control. But I don't think this is a handcream for overnight use, but it works pretty well as a daily replenishing handcream.

Cake Walk Triplemint Foot Cream:
This foot cream still has a very nice sweet scent, but it also has a hint of mint scent in it. I actually like the scent of the foot cream better than the handcream. The texture is verysimilar to the handcream, so I would suggest reapplying it daily if you have super dry skin.

Now onto the body care stuff.
I got this also as a set, but from cakebeauty.com during their 50% off sale. But they do charge for shipping.

Cake Beauty Milk Made Hydrating Moisture Milk:
This is a spray on lotion. It has a light lotion texture, and smells just like the handcream. I think all the milk made line kind of have similar scent.
Because the texture of this product is really light, it's definitely not moisturizing enough for my super dry skin. But I found it works well as a "toner" before I apply a body butter, because it absorbes easily. But I actually would not recommend it to people with dry skin because it's really a lot of work to put it on with a body butter. I think it will work for people with oily skin or probably during the summer.

Cake Beauty Milk Made Frothing Bath and Shower Cream:
I don't have a bath, so I don't know how this will work in a bath, but this works wonderfully in the shower. Not only does it smell nice, it is also very moisturizing. The texture is kind of like a thick milk. It's pretty runny, which is my only complaint about this product, since it's kind of hard to control the amount you use each time. But other than that, it's a great product and great for the holiday season especially!^0^

Cake Beauty Milk Made Smoothing White Sugar Scrub:
This was actually very disappointing. I had really high hope for it when I read the description online, but the product itself is really crapy, I have to say. (Don't be offensed if you like it, this is just my own opinion) First, it's packaing in a plastic jar, which is a common problem for all cake beauty products. I think they can definitely do better on the packaging. Second, I don't like the consistency. because there's quite a lot of liquid in the scrub, and it just looks like rice in the pot with too much water. (Does this even make sense, haha^0^) Third, it feels really sticky on the skin, and even after I washed it off, it still feels like a film od product on my skin, so I had to wash my body again with another body wash.
So overall, I really didn't enjoy this product, and I wouldn't recommend it.

That's all the products I tried from cake beauty. Overall, I think the frothing body wash is my favourite product out of everything I tried. Hope this review helps~
Thank you very much for reading! Happy holiday, everyone!
Stay pretty and stay tuned!
Love~^0^

Shiney Holiday Look~闪亮假日妆容

Hello everyone! I finally have a tutorial for you today, haha, I actually did this holiday look right before I left school since I still have all the makeup with me. Since I did this during the evening, the lighting is kind of bad, sorry for that~
大家好,好久都没有发妆容的文章了,呵呵(该打)。我在离开学校前做的这个假日妆容,希望大家会喜欢。因为是傍晚的时候化的,所以光线不怎么好,请大家见谅啦~

This is the final look, hope you like it~
这是完成后的妆容,希望大家喜欢哦~

First, I primed my eye lids with Too Faced Shadow Insurance, and used a white cream shadow as a base (P&J eye gloss in 02).
首先我用Too faced 的妆前打底膏给眼影打底,这样可以让妆容更持久,显色度也会变好哦!然后用一个珍珠白色的霜状眼影在眼皮上打一层淡淡的颜色,这样可以让眼睛更明亮。

Then, take the bright blue color from the Tokidoki Monzrella Palette (I haven's show you this haul yet, but it will come soon) and apply that all over the top lid. Make sure to pass the crease a little bit, so you can still see the color when you open your eyes.
我用的眼影盘是tokitoki的限量眼影盘Monzrella。首先用亮蓝色,画在整个眼皮上。记得要稍稍超过双眼皮折,这样张开眼睛的时候才看得到。

Next, I am going to use the medium brow color and apply that right below the crese. This will make the bright blue color more subtle.
接着用金棕色的眼影上在双眼皮的下方,这样可以让蓝色看起来比较没有那么夸张。

Next, use the white color to highlight the brow bone and blend out the blue color a little bit.
下面用白色的眼影打亮眉骨,也用同一个眼色将蓝色的上缘晕开。

Then, tight linr with a black pencil liner. Bring the line to the outer 1/2 of the lower lash line. Then line the upper lash line with a liquid liner, wing it out just a slight little bit.
再就画眼线啦!用黑色眼线笔话上内眼线和下眼线的外1/2。然后再用液体眼线笔画上眼线, 轻轻平拉出来一点。

Then, use the dark brown shade to dab over the liquid liner, and create a outer V on the outer corner of your lids to create dimention. Also, apply it to the entire lower lash line, this will make your eyes look even bigger.
接下来用深咖啡色的眼影轻轻点在液体眼线液上面,在外眼角的地方作出一个V型,这样可以让眼妆更有立体感。再用深咖啡色画在整个下眼线上,这样可以让眼睛看起来更大。

Finally, apply mascara and use heated lash curler to make your lashes stand out.
There you go, the eye makeup is finished!
最后刷上睫毛膏,再用烫睫毛棒让睫毛更翘更明显。这样,眼妆的部分就完成啦~^0^
